The current sustainablity crisis is beyond any one sector or country's ability to solve. Rural and regional Australia have so far been asked to bear the brunt of our national climate change response. For example the decrease in land clearing and agricultural methane release have been the only significant emission reductions in Australia since 1990. Other sectors whose emissions rose sharply are attempting to 'hide' behind this.

It is rural, regional and remote Australia and its finely balanced ecosytems that will feel the brunt of changes to climate. If there is any chance of curbing global emissions in time to avert the worst effects of climate change, rural, regional and remote communities across the world will necessarily have pivotal role to play in developing practical emissions reduction policies.

Current Workshop Topics. Specialist Speakers and discussion leaders are brought in for technical topics.

Renewable Energy and Desalination; new opportunites for addressing water shortages and renewable energy opportunities for rural and regional communities.

Carbon trading and Sequestration; how farmers and land custodians can join this new economy.

Native vegetation & Revegetation; re-vegetation techniques, funding sources and writing grant applications.

New Farming & Land Management Opportunies eg soil and water management for sustainable productivity, commercial scale aquaponics (integrated aquaculture & horticulture).

Environmental Management Systems (EMS).

EnviroNova Staff have a long history of imlementing Quality Assurance systems on farms. Talk to us about whether an EMS or ISO 14000 (Environment) accreditation may be right for your farm. We do not currently draft EMS programs but will be happy to point you to an organisation that will help you develop a system.
